We perform Level 1 energy and water audits, alternatively called a simple audit, a screening audit, or a walk-through audit. We also perform indoor air quality inspections, testing, and air monitoring.

Energy & Water Audit

The following is our scope of work, compliant with the BOMA BESt minimum requirements and ASHRAE Level 1 criteria:

  1. On-site visit
  2. Interviews with site operating personnel
  3. A review of the property’s past 3 years of utility bills and other operating data
  4. A walk-through of the facility, all geared toward the identification of areas of energy/water inefficiency or reduction opportunities
  5. Compilation of data for the preliminary energy/water use analysis
  6. List of measures and potential capital improvement for further study
  7. Corrective measures and a work plan are prepared with the site team
  8. We ask the property to engage their preferred contractor(s) to obtain estimates of implementation costs, potential operating cost savings, and simple payback period
  9. Level of detail is provided to prioritize energy efficiency projects and to assess the need for a more detailed focus on energy systems

Indoor Air Quality Assessment

Our reports detail the composition, sources, and levels of indoor pollutants, as well as how to address any issues. This is not a BOMA BESt requirement; however, points are allocated to properties who complete an indoor air quality audit within 12 months of certification. The sampling measurements can include:

  1. Carbon Dioxide
  2. Temperature
  3. Relative Humidity
  4. Carbon Monoxide
  5. Total Volatile Organic Compounds (TVOCs)
  6. Oxygen
